Cashlin Gooden '21 Recruiting Profile

 Apart from being recruited to play at the collegiate level, my biggest accomplishment would have to be making history at my high school as the first team to make third round regional qualifiers during playoffs. I was fortunate to be a part of a fantastic program in high school that instilled in me hard work, dedication, and perseverance. It was during this time that I felt I grew tremendously as an athlete and as a person. The experiences I had while participating in this program definitely better prepared me for the challenges that I would face while playing at the next level.  

I am currently a sophomore and a returning captain of the Southwestern Christian College Lady Rams volleyball team. It was difficult for me as a freshman to be expected to lead a new team, but I rose to the occasion. During my freshman year, I discovered the importance of teamwork, dedication, versatility, and leadership in the game of volleyball. As a returning college player, I am now better prepared for the game's fast pace as well as the curve balls that the game can throw in any set. As a former three-sport athlete and now two-year captain, I know what it takes to not only lead a team but also inspire others to give it their all. I'm looking to transfer to a program that will challenge me academically as well as athletically; I know I have the talent, character, and work ethic to make an immediate impact on your team. The trials and challenges I've faced have prepared me to handle any curveballs that volleyball or life can throw at me; I'm ready to give my all and be an impactful member of any team that I'm a part of.
