Hello , My name is Mary Lou Garcia I play libero for Wellman Union High school. I have been playing since my 7th grade year since then I loved the energy of the game. My sophomore year I made varsity out of 23 girls who tired out. I first started off as left side passer. In the middle of the season I got moved up to be the libero for varsity. I worked all summer long just to get the spot I wanted on varsity since then I worked harder then I got moved up to the spot I got that year. My goals are to work hard for the spot I have each day every practice because no spot is saved on varsity. I run after every ball there is because my goal is to get it where the setter is. My mom is also a big part of why I continue to play this sport when she passed away she wanted skies the limits for me my mom went to every game since I first started. I work hard for my mom because she would want me to be successful she would want me to continue playing the sport I love my mom is my motivation I wanna make her proud. Every time I step foot on that court I get that rush feeling threw my body like serve at me hit at me I’m ready to take it no matter how many times I fall I will always get right back up and make up for my mistake. The part I love about the game is you have to have mental toughness throughout the whole game if I see a teammate fall ima pick them up I cheer everyone of them on every game point I jump up I get hype but when I’m done I get back focused again. I don’t care how many open wounds and bruises I’ll have Im always on the floor and that’s for any ball I move a lot I’m constantly saying its yours or it’s mine or cover here watch middle and back row and I’m screaming from the top of my lungs I wanna make sure that the people in the stands can hear me clearly as to what I’m saying. There is some people who see there volleyball team as just there volleyball team I see it as a family to I build a bond with all of them because there just not people I play volleyball with that’s my family right there. I’m always pushing myself harder then I did the next day I admit I have my bad days but I don’t let those phase me because I know I can pass the ball I don’t let anyone get under my skin and that’s in any sport Im doing volleyball, powerlifting, basketball, tennis ,track and golf.
