Megan Thompson '23 Recruiting Profile

I have played multiple sports--soccer, softball, gymnastics, and track.  I have learned from and enjoy different aspects of each one.  I was introduced to volleyball when I was 9.  My older sister played and I would sometimes practice with her high school team in the summer.  As a competitive person, I immediately loved this fast-paced, strategic game that allows me to use skills I gained from other sports.  Playing beach volleyball the past couple of summers has pushed me more to develop my ball control, mental and physical stamina, and game strategy.

Growing up with parents who both played sports at the Division 1 level, I understand that hard work and self discipline are needed to be successful at the next level.  As an honors student with straight As, I strive to play at an academically challenging school and pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
