Volleyball is not just a sport to me; it is a big part of my life. I stared my volleyball journey the summer before my 6th grade year. My mom had played all throughout high school and college, so she was teaching me the basics. When the school year started, I was ecstatic that I made the team and was ready for this new chapter in my life. After a few weeks of practice our coach at the time decided to resign so my mom stepped in and became our new coach. She has been my coach ever since. Thorough out the years we have had many successful seasons. I realize that a positive team atmosphere, hard work and dedication is what it takes to be a great volleyball player. And I am willing to do what it takes to play at college level.
I am deeply passionate about volleyball, but I also have other things that I love to do. Most the time off the court you can see me with my nose stuck in a book. From romance novels, murder mystery and even science fiction. Another thing I am equally passionate about is church. I have been going to church my whole life and I am enormously proud to be a Christian. I am part of a children’s choir and I also sing solos at my church and many others. I love to sing and spread the joy of the Lord.
For most of my life I did not know exactly what I wanted to be. But after I had some back pain in middle school and my dad worked on my back, I really thought about being a chiropractor. So, in college I am going to major in Exercise Science so I can apply to a Chiropractic school. I did a lot of research in the past years and I am extremely excited to further my education. I have worked extremely hard in high school to have straight A’s and I have been successful. I know from being a student athlete that balancing school and sports can be challenging at times, but I am willing to work hard to be outstanding on and off the court.
