Volleyball is a very important part of my life. Sports have influenced who I am now because it has developed my character. I started my younger years as a competitive gymnast. When I was only 9 I trained 12 hours a week. This taught me grit, self-discipline, and dedication. In 4th grade, I started volleyball. Both of my parents played the sport so they decided to sign me up. I ended up loving it and now I have dedicated my time to volleyball. Volleyball has taught me so much more, like communication, how to deal with disappointment, and most importantly being a great teammate, but has also extended what I was taught during gymnastics. What makes me different from others is I always want to improve when it comes to sports, academics, or anything else. I look forward to my next few years of high school, and the challenges and opportunities I face along the way.
