My name is Betsy Lepak. I have been playing competitive volleyball since I was 11 years old. I bring a lot of positivity and energy to my volleyball teams. I know the game very well since I have had a lot of experience in highly competitive tournaments and have seen many coaching techniques. My goal every time I step into the gym is to give my personal best, always being positive and bring out the best qualities in my teammates. Throughout my many years playing volleyball my favorite moment was when my team was in the final match before the gold bracket during the AAU Nationals. We were playing against a team from Puerto Rico, we ended up losing the match, but afterwards the team and coaches took us aside and said what good sports were all were and what great competition we gave them. To this day I still am in contact with these girls and we have a wonderful friendship because of volleyball. Throughout my career in volleyball I have loved the traveling and people I have met. I have been to numerous cities and states I would not have otherwise had the opportunity of going to. My favorite one was when I played in the Dallas, Texas during the Lone Star Classic. I also loved going to the AAU Nationals in Orlando and JVA Nationals in Indiana. It is amazing to see all of the talented girls at every level of play. Also, because of volleyball and being a varsity player. I have been able to join a club at school called H-Club and become an officer this year. This club is a positive presence in our community. We do a lot of community based activities including bell ringing for the Salvation Army, collecting toys for Toys for Tots, collecting food for our local food pantry and being a positive role model at the elementary levels.
I am very open minded when it comes to choosing a college. I am not very particular when it comes to size or location, the most important thing for me is to have high school spirit and an environment I can grow both in the sport of volleyball and in my career path. I currently have a few ideas in mind for a field of study including nursing, or sonography but still remain undecided. I believe I can make a positive impact on and off the court both physically and mentally.
I look forward to the next level of play.
