Hi, my name is Courtney Kirley. I am a 6'1" middle hitter at Hartford Union High School in Hartford, Wisconsin. In addition to high school volleyball, I also have played club volleyball. I have played club for five years now. My first two years were with Eclipse Volleyball Club, located in Hartford, Wisconsin. After Eclipse, I found myself at Wisconsin Premier in Mequon, Wisconsin for another two seasons. I was in the middle of my second season with them when we were cut short due to Coronavirus. My high school was fortunate enough to still get our fall 2020 volleyball season. During the season we were able to finish 9-0 in our conference which then led to us winning the North Shore Conference for the first time in school history. It was very exciting for me to get to be a part of making history. Additionally, I just completed my 17s year at Motion Volleyball Program(MVP) Wisconsin. We just took 2nd place at the AAU Junior National Volleyball Tournament in 17U Club Gold Division, the highest finish for our program at this tournament.
Although I love the sport and wish I could play all day every day, I also have academics. I always strive to do my best in every class. After finishing the first semester of my junior year my GPA is currently 3.5. I am enrolled in two AP classes: US History and Language and Composition. In addition, I am in PLTW: Medical Interventions. Last year I also qualified to go to the We The People: The Citizen and the Constitution State Finals Competition; Center for Civic Education. My team was unable to attend due to weather issues. I am a part of H-Club at my school. This is a club for Varsity student-athletes. We organize events in school and in the community. A few things we did this year were organized a food drive and all the donations went to our local food pantry. Finally, I recently became a member of the National Honors Society. I have been working hard at getting out in the community and volunteering.
