Hannah Franson '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Hannah Franson, and I'm from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  I have been in track and other sports my whole life.  My older sisters all played volleyball, and my dad coached, so taking up the sport was a given. Since junior high, my camp coaches, club coaches and others encouraged me to play at the collegiate level. I am more ready than ever to do that. I have grown to love it and can’t imagine my life without the sport.

As an adopted African-American and a volleyball player, I also feel it paramount for me to be academically sound, extremely hard working, humble and a good example to younger girls who may want to look up to me.  Volleyball has taught me patience, confidence, hard work and resilience.  I know these things will transfer over into whatever I take on in life.

My passion outside of volleyball is writing. I also juggle a hectic schedule of being a part-time nanny for a one-year-old girl, being active in my church, keeping up on my schoolwork (I’ve been homeschooled for 11 years now) and spending time with my family.  I want to attend a college that will challenge me not only on the volleyball court, but also in the classroom. I plan to pursue a career in Journalism or Communications and want to pursue an English major in order to fulfill that goal.
