Morgan Borchardt '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello everyone, 

    I am a multi-sport athlete that loves the game of Volleyball.  My mom has been a coach for HS volleyball for over 20 years, so I grew up in the gym and have developed a good understanding of the game.   My position currently is  a setter for both club and my high school team.  I have played in advanced club levels since 6th grade, always playing a few age groups ahead of my own.  I have played only on Varsity since my freshman year.  Being left handed allows me to be a little more aggressive at the net as well.   My vertical helps with my lack of height as I have been able to be one of our leading blockers on our team.   My club volleyball coach has also taught me how to master a jump set which has helped my game tremendously.   I believe very much in teamwork and motivating my team with positive feedback and  maintaining a good work ethic  by giving 100% both  on and off the court.  With my position as a setter,  nothing gives me more gratitude then feeding one of my hitters for a kill.  I am excited to continue to play beyond high school and will work to prove myself.  I am also eager to continue to grow and learn  more about the game I love.  If you asked any of my coaches in all my sports as I also participate in Basketball and Track; they will tell you that I work extremely hard and give everything I have to help our team succeed.  I have gained many awards in Volleyball as well as being unanimously voted the Conference Player of the Year.   My Volleyball team also has been Conference Champions for 2020 & 2021.  I have also played  at the Varsity level for both Basketball and Track holding Team Captain positions and was the Most Valuable Player for our high school track team as a sophomore (last year).   Again, I’m beyond excited to play Volleyball at the collegiate level and will work hard to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.
