I love the game of volleyball for three specific reasons. It’s a game of successes and failures, the game is bigger than me, and it tests your limits. The challenge of volleyball just makes me hungry for more. It’s a race to 25, and within the 25 points or more, mistakes are bound to be made. It is how you accept and come back from the mistakes that proves you are a strong player. Volleyball is a team sport, there is no “I” in volleyball. That’s your family out on that 30ft by 30ft court. They are there for you when you get that game winning kill, but most importantly they are right by your side to pick you up when you are struggling. I love the competitive edge that volleyball carries, there is always someone working to take your spot, it all comes down to who fights harder and wants it more. Just when you feel like you can’t jump any higher or move any quicker, that’s the time to test your limits. Show you can push yourself to get better every single time you touch the ball. Perseverance: persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. This is one word that describes the game of volleyball.
