When I first started volleyball I was five, I would help my mom and dad practice because they played on a sand volleyball team. The sport came natural to me. It wasn't until sixth grade I started playing for my school team. All through junior high I was an all around starting player and played wherever our coach told me to. Going into high school I was moved to an outside hitter and was team captain. Throughout the years I have devoted my summers to training, camps, and practice. Volleyball is my passion, there is not a single month I am not playing volleyball. During my club seasons I play wherever my coach directs. Usually I am playing a defensive specialist because I sacrifice my body for the ball. I never give up on the ball or let it touch the floor. Playing college volleyball has always been my biggest dream. It's not playing for a division one school, it's playing for any school. All I want to do is play volleyball after school and keep getting better.
What I strive to show coaches is that I never give up on the game and I will always keep my team positive. I am a leader. To me, giving up was never an option even when things get tough. When I go into a game I clear my mind and take the game play by play. I always have my team set a goal. The goal might be that we don't let them score any more than five points or it might be making sure we cover all blockers and hitters. I personally set goals also. I aim to be the best I can be so I set goals like getting 15 kills and 25 digs during the game. Being a leader I make sure all of my teammates are giving it there all and accomplishing their personal goals. If someone needs help on their timing on a attack or setting the ball all the way to outside I will always stay after practice to help. I've played every position and am confident with my skills . After every game I look at my stats and ask my coach what I need to do to get better and practice everything she says. I go one by one with my skills, one practice I might work on hitting and the next practice my spot serving. I put all effort and hard work into getting better and getting to be the best player I can be. I make sure to show all coaches I am there for my teammates on and off the court and I will always put in 100% into the game.
