For as long as I can remember I have been a swimmer. I started taking swim lessons at the age of two and have swam continuously since. After several years of swimming with a club, I was introduced to water polo the summer before my freshman year of high school. In water polo I found a competitive and exciting new team environment that was never a part of swim. While learning the sport was challenging in general it came naturally to me. My freshman year I was placed on the varsity roster but played most of my games as a junior varsity starter. This benefited me; I got a lot of playing time while practicing with the varsity team. After my freshman water polo season, I was a member of the varsity swim team with my best events being the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke. When swim season ended, I decided to focus on and improve my skills as a water polo player by playing for a club team. While I am still progressing at each position, I feel strongest playing two-meter guard. I plan to continue playing water polo both in club and for high school.
Academically, I have maintained over a 4.0 GPA while taking honors and advanced classes. When I am not in the water, I enjoy traveling, reading, playing alto saxophone, and spending time with my friends and family.
