Chloe Polzin '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming since I was 5 years old, but didn’t start competitive swimming until I was 11. I enjoyed swimming, but I felt a disconnect from it and wanted something more. In my freshman year I joined the water polo team for my high school. I had never played water polo before this point. I ended up being the only freshman to join the team. The team was very small and I was a varsity starter within the first couple of games. I fell in love with water polo right away. When my coach told me about the East Side Water Polo Club I couldn’t wait to join. I had only been playing on my high school team for three months and with the club team for three months when I was asked to join the elite league travel team for East Side. With my travel team I was able to go to the South Florida International Water Polo Tournament (2020). In addition to the travel team I tried out for the Midwest Regional ODP team in December of 2019. I was selected to play in the 2020 EAST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS ODP (Cadet (MDW stripes)). Shortly after these tournaments everything was shut down from COVID. The past year and a half has taught me to never take practice for granted. Even though this past year and a half has been extremely challenging it has led to a lot of personal growth as a leader and a teammate.
