Emeline Smiley '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I'm Emeline and I want to play women's water polo at the highest collegiate level. I started playing in the middle of my 8th grade school year at age 13 on the Navy AC Water Polo team.  I used to swim competitively for 10 years before making the switch over to water polo. I am homeschooled and a rising junior going into the 2022-2023 school year. I play for both Navy's 16u and 18u girls teams as a utility player. I would say that my biggest strength is my determination - to always get better and to work hard, 110% no matter what.  I am a solid and unselfish all-around team player just as happy playing hard defense and providing assists as scoring goals. I can play anywhere needed. I have played set, set defense, the wings/perimeter, point, and sprinted, all allowing me to experience all sides of the game, helping me better understand the game and how to improve my play. I am excited to start this journey to playing in college!!
