Wrestling was a sport that I was always around growing up, but I didn’t think it was for me because it was a “male dominated” sport. I eventually decided to try because I had nothing to lose. Little did I know I would fall in love with the sport. Being part of the wrestling family has been such an amazing experience and I have learned so much from it. I have been taught valuable lessons and skills such as being disciplined, putting in hard work, persevering, being a good teammate while also being independent at the same time, and not only being tough physically, but menatally. I am able to apply these skills on the mat and my everyday life.
