I have two goals in my life and they are to wrestle at the collegiate level and earn a degree in Electrical Engineering. Wrestling has taught me how to overcome adversities and achieve my goals while learning how to be a leader. These traits, proven by many previous wrestlers, provide leaders in our communities and industries.
I was smaller than my peers and had difficulties competing in many sports during my Middle School years. A teacher at my school recognized my frustrations and introduced me to wrestling in 8th grade. Wrestling gave me the opportunity to compete with athletes closer to my size. Now I have grown and expanded my skills through camps and a personal wrestling coach. I have proven to my coaches and peers that hard work and determination leads to success as demonstrated by my performance as a state placer and three-time state qualifier.
I’m very analytical but have a sense of humor; both are traits that were passed on to me from my parents. I love and excel in math and science in school and I completed a four-year engineering program offered at my school. I’m also an accomplished violist; playing for six years and was a member of the Anchorage Youth Symphony. I want to go to a school that will challenge me intellectually and allow me to compete at the next level. I feel I would be a great asset to any wrestling program.
