My name is Ocean Kaimana Haire and I am a sensor at La Joya Community High School. I am 5'9" and wrestle in the 152 lb. weight class. I have been on varsity since my freshman year. As a sophomore, I went to state and was one win away from placing in the top 6 and medaling. Last year I qualified for state, but because I couldn’t control my temper after losing in the finals match at sectionals was not allowed to go. I learned a big lesson. This year (senior year) I made it to state again, but only placed second. I am looking for an institution where I can learn the skills to have a career in physical therapy or math. I am hoping to stay close to my family so I have been looking at schools like ASU, UH, U of A, etc.; however, I am open to considering a college that will meet my academic and athletic goals.
