I am aspirational in that I have a strong work ethic that I have gained from my dad. I believe that when you work hard, you can achieve whatever you put your mind to. I think through my moves and tend to be my own worst critic. When I end up not meeting my goals, I look at my strategies and plan out what I can do to make myself better and stronger so I can meet my goals the next time. I am an avid believer in giving my very best in both sports and academics. I am always trying to achieve the best that I can be. My junior year was when our valley's two local high schools merged into one. I had attended Paonia High School for both my freshman and sophomore year until the combination that formed our brand new high school, the North Fork High School. At this new school, I have been able to build my leadership skills and grow into a stronger leader within my school. As a leader, I must be inspirational both on and off the mat. That means I work hard in my academics as well.
I have taken several AP classes through the years and received the award for being an outstanding junior at my school. The Outstanding Junior Boy award is awarded to somebody who achieves excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. I am a candidate for the role of valedictorian as well. I like to challenge myself, and this is certainly a way to do it, as I have played up to 3 or 4 sports each year during my high school career. Playing these sports and managing my grades is not always easy, but I know it is worth it in the long run. Currently, I have a 4.15-grade point average. I am honored to have this GPA, and I seek to continue being assiduous in both my high school and future college career. I have always been intrigued by the field of engineering, specifically mechanical engineering. In recent years though, I have started thinking about attaining a minor in sports medicine as well. Sports is a big part of my life, and it is certainly important to know how to take care of yourself and others if the need arises. However, I am still looking at my different options in the degree fields. Thank you for your time and consideration.
