While in High School I developed love of Wrestling!
One day I had to stay after school and needed to use the phone to phone my mother to come and get me. The teacher phone I asked to use was the wrestling coach. He told me in order for me to use his phone I had to try out for wrestling. I thought about it and decided to give it a try. My first year was challenging. Especially when going up against experienced wrestlers. Over the years My wins vs loses started to increase. I learned different techniques, lessons, and developed a brother and sister hood with other fellow wrestlers. Not just with my school but with other schools as well. The greatest lesson I learned while wrestling was it’s not about strength, its about the technique. You can be the smallest on the team but you can also outsmart your opponent. David and Goliath. Wrestling has become a great outlet for me to deal with stress along with my art. These two activities have saved me from getting into trouble and following the wrong crowd. Staying involved in my art and wrestling helped me focus on my life and future. I’m grateful for the opportunity with hopes of pursuing my career goal as an artist and also continuing my sport of wrestling. I may not be the best by I try my best. I enjoyed wrestling so much I begged my mom to put me in a camp in 2020 to develop my technique as a wrestler. After fussing , my mother told me I better pursue wrestling in College and don't waste her money nor time playing around with this sport. If I'm serious in the sport then she would invest. I told her how serious I was and now I'm telling you , I'm definitely pursuing my goals as a wrestler. this year during the our regular season I went undefeated. My hard work and dedication paid off. I don't like to compare my skills to other fellow wrestlers. I believe we all bring something different to the mat. As long as I've been wrestling I never came across the same type of wrestler. I've learned a lot rather I won or lost. I learn a lesson at every match. My dedication, willingness to learn, and eagerness to wrestler was the reason I always got MIP and eventually MVP. Even in the office season I found myself wanting to continue working on my craft of wrestling. There's always room for improvement and I won't stop until I decide to stop wrestling.
