Aloha, my name is Traven Caine Wailehua but everyone calls me Baba. The first time I laced up wrestling shoes was at the age of 7. Since then my love for the sport has grown as wrestling I believe is the toughest sport to participate in. One thing wrestling has taught me was to never give up and that things always can't be easy in life. Which ever college I attend, I hope it will further mold me into a man that will never give up, strive to be the best, and always have love for my Ohana(Family). Family is very important to me so I hope to find a college that I will call family in the future.
During the 2020 year Hawaii had no wrestling due to the pandemic. In 2019, I was the alternate on varsity my freshman year behind my teammate and returning state champion. I was able to compete as a Freshman on the JV level where I placed 2nd in the State. Two time Middle School Champion.
2021-2022, I had an ACL injury which led to knee reconstruction. I was able to rehab and wrestle my senior year being out 2 years. Finished as the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) Champion and state qualifier.
