My name is Diesel Del Rosario and I am currently a student at Lanai High and Elementary School. I am a wrestler and I also play football (8-man). I want to continue wrestling in college. I want to wrestle for a coach who cares for his wrestlers and who is motivating. I am ready to learn from professors that are also motivating and interesting to learn from.
I have been wrestling for as long as I remember. I started wrestling when I was 4 years old, and I never stopped. With my highschool wrestling career almost coming to an end I would like to think that I have accomplished many things, I have learned that bringing people up with you and always making others around you better is always important.Growing up I was taught by my older brothers and father that I have to stay tough and strong, this helped me in the long run onto middle school and throughout highschool, staying humble was also a big part of my learning and growing process. During my junior season in playing football I earned an award for “offensive leader”. I earned this award by helping my teammates gain confidence in themselves. Currently I am a 2-time MIL champion and I placed 3rd in Hawaii's HHSAA State Championships. I have also made the MIL wrestling first team twice and (8-man football 1st team once. I have amazing role models and coaches that motivate me to strive for more and always do better than the day before. Coming from a small rural island I want to make sure that I can leave a legacy on Lāna‘i and prove that just because an individual comes from a small island doesnt mean he/she can't do great things. I am always working everyday to better myself and make sure that I can be the best version of me everyday, because I want the younger upcoming generation to feel the same way and have the same support and guidance.
