I got into wrestling through a friend who was a wrestler, also my father had wrestled in High school and he thought I would enjoy the sport. He was right, at first I was a little uncertain in the practice room, but as I developed as a wrestler, and discovered what style I liked, I really began to enjoy wrestling. I am a great fit for college teams because I have not yet hit my potential, but with coaching from a college level coaching staff I know I can. I did not start wrestling as early as some of my high school teammates, and I started behind them, but over the years I have been able to catch up with and beat most of the other wrestlers in my high school practice room, and since making the varsity team, and receiving more attention from my coaches I have been growing quickly as a wrestler. Because of my ability to absorb information. A goal I have for myself is as if this year is to make the Illinois 3A state podium. Last Year I missed my chance to go to state by two points, and during this downtime of the pandemic, I have been outworking many other wrestlers in keeping with my runs and lifts daily. I am also working on techniques and sparring at Izzy style. Academically I am interested in working for a degree in Kinesiology or physiology, in the hopes of pursuing a career in the chiropractic field. I know I will be able to keep a similar GPA in college that I have in my high school career because of my work ethic and thankful attitude toward my college education. In high school so far my highest achievements would be becoming a high ranked HM in Illinois 3a, my 5th place finish at Rocky Mountain Nationals 2020, the 2-2 record In Greco at fargo, my freshmen year, and my 4th place finish at frosh/soph state my sophomore year. I really value the coaching experience that I could receive from a college coaching staff, and I cannot wait for wrestling season to start up again.
