A major goal of mine is to compete beyond the college level. During my 7th grade year I was cut the first week from the basketball team, so I thought I would try wrestling. I have loved it ever since. In the last year, I have significantly improved my strength and conditioning. I work hard on and off the mat. I have wrestled at the varsity level both my freshman and sophomore years. This year, I wrestled up, successfully, two weight classes. Doing so benefitted both my team and me. I have significantly improved at wrestling smart and technique by wrestling up. The last two years I have started behind team mates who will wrestle at the collegiate level. I have taken the opportunity to learn from them. As a result I have caught up with them, and I am competitive with them.
I have a 3.5 GPA and intend to improve that this semester. I am very active in many extra-curricular activities. I am a Life Scout, which is only one rank away from Eagle Scout. As a Boy Scout I have held several leadership positions including: Librarian, Historian, Ass't. Patrol Leader, Chaplin's Aid, Patrol Leader, and Ass't. Senior Patrol Leader. I have played in band for the past five years and held the first chair for tuba. I am in Nixa High School's audition Chamber Choir and have competed successfully in vocal and theatrical competitions at the state and local levels. I am also very active in my church where I have served in the children's church working lights and sound, as well as being responsible for a first grade class.
