Austin Zimmerman '24 Recruiting Profile

My scholastic and athletic goals are very similar in nature. I plan to put every bit of effort, time and energy into completing a 4 year degree or beyond. My major at this time is undecided, however this does not change my approach to work as hard as I can to be the best on or off the mat. Whatever level I am blessed enough to wrestle, the highest accolade at that level will be plastered on my wall along with my game plan and short-term goals how to get there. I have always been small and had to work harder and smarter than my competition, my freshman and sophomore year I have wrestled under weight and never let it get in my head, I used that as a reason to work my butt off. Academics have not always come easy for me either, I have to study and work hard for every grade I get. I am fortunate enough that my parents are able to instill a strong work ethic and always say “anything worth having, doesn’t come easy.”
