I aspire to compete on a college wrestling team because I want to keep growing as an individual. Wrestling has instilled discipline and character in me, as well as improving my mental strength and integrity. This year I am the captain of my school's team, and I lead my team's practices and push them to make sure everyone is doing their best. Wrestling has really built me as a person, and I want to continue my career in the sport past high school. I have always pushed myself to be the best, academically and athletically. I am often at the top of my classes and help my peers when it comes to studying or understanding the topic. Instead of sharing homework answers, I helps my classmates understand the problem, and help them learn to do it themselves. I also push myself physically, like in wrestling practice where I try to do more conditioning than my teammates, or in PT tests for the Naval Sea Cadets, where I scored 134 pushups and held an 8 minute plank, whereas the second best score was about 3 minutes and about 80 pushups. Pushing myself has always been a part of me, and pushing others is a side effect of my character. I always wrestle my hardest and will continue to do so for the rest of my career.
