My name is Joe Parisi and I am the Captain of the Nanuet Wrestling Team this year. My goal is to wrestle in college. I have competed on the Varsity level since 8th grade. I am All-Section and All-League. In additional to wrestling, I also practice taekwondo (I am a third degree black belt) and I am an amateur boxer. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and achieved a 1510 on my SAT (converts to a 34 ACT), while taking Honors and AP classes. I know I have the drive to wrestle in college and maintain my grades. I led our team in winning our home (Nanuet) tournament 2 years in a row (2021. 2022), the Rockland County Tournament for the first time in 40 years (2022) and the Sections Tournament for the first time in 10 years (2023). I am very motivated to succeed and have been doing off season practice with a wrestling club outside of school which I pay for myself. I know how to manage my time so I can achieve good grades, participate in sports and also work part time. My overall record is 78-21, but my senior year I really challenged myself and ended up 30-4, which is a tremendous improvement. I also want to point out that while I was able to practice my sophomore year, we did not compete due to COVID. I feel I am just hitting my stride and want to continue to compete in college with a successful and motivated team.
