I like to say that wrestling has influenced my life. The sport has definitely shaped me into the person I am now. I have been around sports since I was a little kid and I have also been growing up with some "humble beginnings". So wrestling was just one way to channel out from everything that was going on in my life. I was a scrawny kid in 7th grade when I first joined wrestling and I didn't know what I was getting myself into but I was determined to not let how I look be who I was. Joining wrestling has made me a much more disciplined person and also have a better outlook on life and have a more positive mind. Especially in my defeats, just to keep my head up and keep working hard to become better. So in that case I just feel like I am a very coachable athlete because I want to be getting better I always want to progress my skills. This lead me to start doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA because of how dominant wrestlers are in that sport. Learning the moves in those sports helped me a lot in my high school wrestling on how to shift my weight and use my body more. Also the thought of someone out there in the world is working harder than me right now motivates me to give it more than 100% and get better but it's not just all about me I like to see my teammates get better and see them progress, even though wrestling is you and you're opponent on the mat it all goes into a team score so to help out teammates will definitely help out the team in general. But also academics is very important because wrestling will only take me so far so if I go to college and get a degree that will take me even farther. It will also make me feel good because I'll be making my family proud. I am interested in going into the career path of Physical Therapy. One day I won't be able to participate in sports so this will be my way of still being able to be around sports also help out people who are going through troubles with their body. I find the body mechanics fascinating and why doing one movement can effect another movement tremendously. Thank you coaches for taking the time to look at my profile !
