I am a 5 ‘ 9” 138 lb. determined wrestler with many dreams and goals still ahead of me. I have come a long way in wrestling but I feel I have unlimited potential. There are still many more tournaments, practices and competitions to attend and I am very excited to see what the future will bring. I actively search for hard levels of competitions that I can attend in and out of the season to challenge and better improve myself. Last year, I attended the Appalachian State camp, J. Robinson’s Intensive Training camp and earned the “I DID IT” T-shirt. As a Freshman, I earned a spot on the NC Greco/Freestyle Cadet team and competed at Cadet Duals in Pennsylvania in addition to qualifying and competing in Fargo, ND! As a sophomore, I earned a spot on the NC Greco/Freestyle team for the Junior Division and wrestled in Tulsa, Oklahoma! Although I have played many team sports over the years (football, lacrosse, soccer) I love the sport of wrestling and became interested because it allows me to attain high goals based on the hard work I have put into perfecting the techniques. It is all on me to learn, study, practice and then perform.
Aside from wrestling, I realize that if I am not as productive in the classroom as I am on the mat, then I won’t have the best chance, if any, to wrestle in college. Performing well in school and attaining a high level education is extremely important to me. I have the potential to be awarded the chance to wrestle in college so I do take school seriously. I take all of the honors courses that I can and I am diligent with my studies. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and I am currently in our school’s S.T.E.M. program (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) and really enjoy what we get to do. I actually attend this school which is out of district so that I get this foundation as I am entertaining a degree in Engineering; however, I have not made a final decision.
In conclusion, I am excited to have the opportunity to be able to put my information out there for college coaches to look at me, my goals and what I have accomplished so far. I feel like I am in my own world and truly alive when I am on the mat. There are times that I am training six days a week and the seventh day is a tournament. I work very hard and invite chances to prove myself in challenges that are put in front of me.
