I want to pursue an opportunity to contribute to a college wrestling program. I am a late bloomer when it comes to wrestling, as I started wrestling in high school during my sophomore year. I am a hard worker and am looking forward to seeing how far I can push myself and my teammates this season. I have high expectations for my senior year, as I was one win away from being a State Qualifier in the strongest region in North Carolina, for my weight class (Midwest 2A 160lbs). I am a motivated wrestler, and I am excited to see what the future holds. I am also one of the strongest teammates you could ask for. Last year, West Stanly High School had 3 wrestlers from 138lbs to 152lbs. As a junior I made a decision to wrestle 160lbs, and not wrestle off against the 152lbs or 145lbs weight classes. I instead wrestled the 160lb weight class, I was eating and drinking before matches to be able to weigh enough to wrestle. I was wrestling 160lbs and weighing 145lbs. This not only helping my team but made me a better wrestler. My coaches named me this year's team captain at the awards ceremony for wrestling after last season. I will push myself and my teammates, to provide an example of what hard work will accomplish.
Thank you for taking the time to read over my profile.
