I want to study athletic training or physical therapy in college because of injuries I've had in my high school athletic career. I've been around athletic trainers who want me to get back to my sport and are motivating. I want to help others get back to doing what they love, I feel this would be very fulfilling. I found wrestling later than most in high school. I really enjoyed my growth in the sport and learning from others. I've learned from coaches, teammates and opponents and noticed the variety and technical differences in moves to help me find what works best for me. As I've grown in the sport I help mentor my teammates with things that help them succeed. I feel that I'm a good teammate because of my open mind set. I grew up in a diverse environment with different people and I was raised to treat others the way I would want to be treated whether I win or lose. I value my strengths as an individual to help further the team's success and I have a goal of being on the travel roster. I know that being an athlete is only half of being a student athlete. I was diagnosed with dyslexia late in middle school, with a bit of elbow grease and help from my teachers and desire to learn, I achieved an academic letter and advanced to the top 20% of my class. I always prioritize academics before sport and I value having a good education.
