Ostin Blanchard '23 Recruiting Profile

After being adopted and coming to the United States, I played a number of sports including Football, Baseball, and Basketball.  I joined wrestling later than most and didn't begin to take it seriously until missing the Wisconsin state tournament by one match.  Since then, I have dedicated myself to becoming the best wrestler that I can become.  In approximately two and a half years, I have gone from a good wrestler to a nationally competitive wrestler, placing at regional tournaments in both folkstyle and freestyle wrestling.  I placed 6th my Sophomore year and 3rd my Junior year at the Wisconsin State Tournament.  Additionally, I have made the Wisconsin Freestyle Team and wrestled at Fargo for two years making it to the final 32 wrestlers in 2022.  

I have benefited from the great coaching at the Askren Wrestling Academy and have set a goal for myself of winning an NCAA title and eventually a World and/or Olympic medal.  I know that this will take hard work and dedication and believe that I have the ability and drive to reach my goals.  

I am looking for a Coach that can continue to push me to reach my goals, both competitively and academically, as I believe that I have a lot more to grow in wrestling and in life.
