Hello, my name is Daniel Murphy. I am from Atwater, California and I’m currently a student at Buhach Colony High School. I have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old, and over the years, I have developed a strong love for the game. Since I was a kid, my dad, uncle, and grandpa have been major influences on me, from playing catch in the backyard to learning new drills in the cages. Throughout the years I have had great coaches and teammates who I respect and they have all helped me develop my respect for the game. Baseball has taught me many things, but the most important lesson it has taught me is how to deal with failure. Baseball is a game of failure and if something does not go your way on the field, you have to shake it off, work harder, and be ready for the next opportunity.
In school, I have always been a great student and I love the challenges and competitiveness in the classroom. I recently finished the year with a 4.0 GPA. My goal is to graduate high school while maintaining a 4.0 GPA or higher. I will achieve this by continuing to work hard in the classroom and on the field. My ultimate goal is to reach the collegiate level to study math or engineering and to continue playing the game that I love.
