My personal goal is to attend an excellent academic college or university, while playing baseball at the highest level.
I started playing baseball at the age of four, and I have grown to love the game and all that it offers. Baseball has taught me many things, some of which are that hard work can pay off, being a good teammate is important, and giving my best effort is essential. I continue to strive to be the best I can be by working hard on and off the baseball field. I try to be positive with all of my teammates. I have been told that I am a good team leader.
My commitment to training on and off the field has taken my baseball skill to a high level, and I continue to push myself to get better and better. During my freshman year, I was the number one starting pitcher, played shortstop when I was not pitching, and finished the year with a .450 batting average. A proud moment for me came during the Baseball Banquet at the end of my freshman year, when I was unanimously voted by the coaches and my teammates as Freshman Team Most Valuable Player.
I have always believed that staying focused on your goals is the best way to achieve them. I work hard at school and believe that a good education is essential. As a freshman, during the baseball season I obtained a 4.0 GPA. Currently I am participating in volunteer work (The Pledge to Humanity Group) and have learned that giving my time to others can help make the world a better place. I continue to work hard towards my goal of playing baseball at the collegiate level, while staying focused on academics.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
