I have been a competitive swimmer for nine years in the Bay Area. Aside from swimming, I am extremely passionate about the ocean and marine life, and I plan to major in Marine Sciences in the future. My family and I are very nature-loving and go on frequent trips to the beach. I have participated in several beach cleanups with Save Our Shores multiple times over the course of several years. After obtaining my license in August 2016, I became an avid scuba diver. I also enjoy photography, specifically photographing nature. I went to St. Isidore Catholic School for kindergarten through eighth grade and am currently attending San Ramon Valley High School (SRVHS). During my eighth grade year at St. Isidore’s I was a class representative in Student Leadership. Student Leadership participated in fundraisers, charities, and volunteer work. I am currently enrolled in Honors Chemistry. I love science, and wanted to share my love for science with younger students by becoming a mentor in a district program called Imagineering. Imagineering was an after school program where there would be different classes for second through fifth graders, which ranged from science to robotics. There were two to three mentors per class. I stayed with Imagineering through the summer going into sophomore year. Sophomore year I joined a student run program called Science Alliance. In Science Alliance, a high school student is paired with a fifth grader to complete a year long science experiment, which is judged at a science fair at the end of the year.
I have been swimming for nine years. Swimming is a big part of my life, and a part of my life that I cherish. My swimming career began in 2008 when I joined the San Ramon Aquacats, which I was on for about a year. I joined San Ramon Valley Aquatics (SRVA) in 2009. While swimming with SRVA, I decided to try diving. I dove with All Valley Divers from 2009-2011, where I participated in several invitational meets. I currently swim in the Senior group on SRVA, traveling to several invitational meets during the year. While on SRVA, I have earned Junior Olympic times and Far Western times for a number of events. As a freshman in high school I swam for the Varsity team, making finals and top 16 at East Bay Athletic League Regional Meet and North Coast Sectionals.
Through the years, I have earned various awards from photography to swimming. As I explained before, I enjoy photography. In 2017, I received second place in the Youth Photography Competition at the Alameda County Fair Pleasanton, CA. the following year, I received first place in the same competition. It can also be said that I love science. In eighth grade, I participated in the Diocese of Oakland Science Fair where I finaled and earned first place. Continuing on to the Contra Costa County Science Fair, I received Honorable Mention. In addition to that, in eighth grade I also was honored with the Award of Excellence in Science, Music, and Physical Education. Along with those, I received the St. Isidore Church Music Director’s Award of Excellence. As said previously, I tried out diving. In 2010, I received the Sherman Invitational Future Female Champion Diver. I was presented with the Northern California Diving Association Diver of the Year for 9 & Under Girls in 2011. When I was on San Ramon Aquacats, I earned the Coach’s Award in 2009. While on SRVA, I have received various Special Awards and a Coach’s Award in 2015. The Special Awards I have been awarded with include the Always on Time Award in 2010, the Best Under Pressure Award in 2012, the Best Leadership Award in 2013, and the Solid and Dependable Award in 2018. I was a recipient of the Athlete of the Month award for Varsity Women’s Swimming during April of my freshman year. In addition to that I received the Scholar Athlete award at the end of the season. My best events include 100 fly, 200 back, 200 I.M. and 400 I.M.
I am interested in a school that provides outstanding academics as well as swimming. My major of interest is Marine Sciences and I am open to schools all across the country. Swimming has given me a strong work ethic that will never go away. I want to make a positive impact on a college swim team and I will bring
determination, leadership, and a goal to always challenge myself to reach my best possible self both academically and in the water.
