Malik Pedraza-Palominos '22 Recruiting Profile

I began playing baseball at 4 years old, and have always had a great passion and respect for the game. Growing up, I had the privilege and honor to learn from amazing coaches in Oakland, CA and in Chicago, IL. These coaches were instrumental in my development as a player and they taught life lessons that have also shaped me as a human being. Because of them and my parents, I am enthusiastic, driven, open-minded and hard working in all aspects of life. My coaches would describe me as a highly coachable player, one who studies the game and is constantly looking for ways to improve as a player and leader. My teammates have always looked at me not only as a leader but someone who could give advice without passing judgement. Academically, I struggled a bit my freshman year; I entered the #3 ranked high school in the state with unrealistic dreams and not enough goals or plans. However, I have worked extremely hard these past two years to improve my GPA and to accomplish my goals on and off the field. I am determined to use my leadership skills and self-discipline to stay on course and accomplish my dream of playing baseball at the highest level possible. I will continue to work hard each day to become a better overall candidate for your team and school.
