I love playing the game of Baseball! I have been playing baseball since I was three years old. I have loving parents who have been very supportive in helping me reach my goals as a baseball player. My father graduated from the University of Chicago and my mother is a PhD student at Northwestern University. My parents are my greatest role models! They have taught me to set goals that are measureable and attainable. I am very proud to be an honor roll (4.1/4.0 GPA) student at Whitney Young Magnet School. As a Freshman and Sophomore, I was a JV starter in baseball and I was also on the basketball team. I have decided to focus on baseball and will no longer be playing basketball in any level. As a Junior, for the 2018-2019 baseball season, I am going to be a Varsity starter. I was also classically trained as a first chair saxophone player at the Chicago Merit School of Music. In addition to my busy sports schedule, I was able to volunteer at a youth center and tutor inner-city grammar school students in math and maintain summer jobs with the After School Matters employment program in Chicago.
I am honest, trustworthy and very respectful towards my peers and adults. I try my best to lead by example and be a great team player on and off the field. I love playing and winning baseball games as a team. I pride myself in being very coachable in any situation. I have very good speed and have only been caught stealing twice since I have been playing baseball. I attended a college baseball camp this Summer of 2018 and I ran a 6.7 time on the 60 Yard Dash and a 3.7 time from home to 1st base. I have soft hands as a middle-infielder and I can play anywhere in the outfield, with a good strong throwing arm. My hitting is improving for average and power through ongoing individual training.
I am self-motivated, hard working and I enjoy working extra on my skills as a baseball player. I am looking forward to the challenge of learning how to play baseball at the college level with excellence. My main goal is to help a college program be successful and win a National Championship!
