Braden Thelander '22 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I can remember, I have aspired to play baseball at a college level.   I am a 2022 RHP/SS (5' 10", 160 lbs).  I come from a family of baseball players- my dad played at Lewis University and at the University of Utah.  My older brothers both played (one is still playing) college ball.  Their examples have instilled in me a hard work ethic and a determination to succeed.  My determination to be the very best I can be has helped me to earn some excellent opportunities.  I was invited to the Area Code tryouts in Illinois in 2019 and 2020, the Chicago Scouts Association Silver and Black Series, the PBR Underclass games for Illinois and Wisconsin 2022 prospects, and the PBR Underclass Invitational twice.  At the most recent PBR Invitational, I was able to get 84 mph across the infield and also run a 4.22 home to first.  I sat 82-83 mph with my 4 seam fastball off the mound with a tight breaking ball at 71 mph and a good changeup at 75 mph.  I am also the only sophomore on the Varsity team at Prairie Ridge High School.   These opportunities have prepared me to be a leader amongst my teammates.  I worked out with both my travel and high school team during the off season as well as an independent training program. 

  My desired major is business and/or finance. I would like to play with a highly competitive baseball program wherever that takes me!
