Matthew Gierer '21 Recruiting Profile

Coaches,

One of my goals is to play baseball at the collegiate level. It is an experience that I have looked forward to and dreamed about. What makes me different from other people is that I understand the value of hard work and strive to improve myself. I apply myself in all that I do, whether that be on the baseball field or in the classroom. Currently, I maintain a 4.0 unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale (4.3 weighted GPA), which shows that I take my studies seriously. 

My summer team in 2018 was the Missouri Warriors, a club started up by Mike Matheny. We competed well, winning some tournaments and competing well in every single one regardless of what the box score may have said. Moving forward, we will be changing our name to the Midwest Athletics, seeking higher competition in preparation for college.

I know that I have what it takes to succeed in college. My study habits have prepared me for the college life of a student athlete and I know that baseball and school will not interfere with each other. I'm looking forward to what is to come.
