My name is Joey Ward, I'm a 5'8 170-pound utility player who can play anywhere you need me to play. I'm as comfortable in the outfield as I am working 2nd base. Simply put I'm a ballplayer I love the game of baseball. Since I was old enough to hold a bat and glove my Dad would take me in the yard and throw wiffle balls for me to hit over the fence or ground balls for me to field. I respect the game, all the people I have had the opportunity to play with, and the many great coaches I have learned from! When I'm not playing baseball I enjoy working out, hanging out with friends, and family gatherings. I pride myself on being a dedicated player/teammate. I am a team-first player and am willing to do everything in my power to motivate my teammates and hopefully win games for the team. Being a leader on and off the field is something I take pride in. I was honored to be selected to be a part of my high school's Junior Leader Physical Education program which has allowed me to elevate my leadership skills while working alongside the PE teacher.
In conclusion, I would like to assure all of the college coaches interested in me that I'm a hard worker. I try to better myself as a student, baseball player, and person on a daily basis. I'd be excited to attend any camps for evaluations, or, provide any information, if you'd like to begin a conversation to learn more about me.
