Personal Statement

My main goal is to improve, both in my academic and athletic career. It's important to me that I continue to strive for my best because I know that can help me to get on a path for a bright future. Having been on sports teams for many years, I've learned what it means to be a good teammate each day. Now I'm learning to be a leader. I've learned that encouraging my team in everything they do strengthens my own confidence to keep moving forward in my life goals.

As a member of my High School cross country team, track team, and a competitive track club, I have found so many joys in running year-round. Each time I show up to practice, I enjoy the challenge that comes with a hard workout. During every race, I'm always looking ahead for the next move. To me, the best feeling in this sport is running through the finish line knowing I pushed myself more than I ever had before. With that feeling always comes the mindset that there is more to be done for the future.

Although running may seem more enjoyable at times, my academic life is most important.  Just as in running, I know there's always more to be done.  I want to be at my best in the classroom to earn the grades that I work everyday to achieve.  Helping my classmates when I can, also helps me to learn about myself.

During a recent visit to a University, I heard that learning should last a lifetime and is not complete with a degree. I plan to continue my life with a balance of learning to be my best, and helping others along the way.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
