I appreciate the opportunity to share my personal statement with interested schools. I have thought about this for a while and this is not the easiest thing to write. The best thing I can do is be honest with you and myself about the type of candidate I believe I am.
I am a smart, nice, honest and an athletic 18yr old (class of 2021) that is committed to playing baseball in college. Some of the biggest influential people in my life are my parents and grandfather. I have been taught to put family and school first, but also have been driven at a young age to play multiple sports. It's extremely hard to convince anyone in a couple paragraphs why I may be the best candidate for your program but I surely have confidence in myself and know with the continued hard work, I can be a valuable student athlete for many collegiate baseball teams. I have played both baseball and hockey since I was five years old and only started playing football my freshman year. Although I played hockey at a high level and very well could have played in college, I decided two years ago to hang up the skates and only play baseball and football. I knew I wasn't committed to hockey like I am baseball. It was instilled in me at a very young age that my "attitude and effort" will be vital to my success both in the classroom and on the field (or ice).
I appreciate having the opportunity to write something personal about myself and I understand there are many talented student athletes to consider for your program. I would like any interested coach reading this to know, I am one of those talented, committed student athletes with the right attitude willing to put forth the effort to be the best student and baseball player I can be. I believe my experience playing multiple sports while doing very well in the classroom in addition to my willingness to compete at any level makes me a great candidate for your program. I'm looking forward to finishing out my last couple years of High school and I am extremely excited about all the opportunities I have for college. It's about the "Attitude and Effort"!
Thank you and I appreciate being considered for your program.
