During high school, I earned a place in the starting lineup at shortstop before the end of my freshman season. This was a huge personal accomplishment for me and a goal I set for myself when I was young. I grew up on the diamond and some of my most precious memories are of hitting at the park with my dad. I started playing for the New England Nor’Easters at 9 – the first time I was eligible to play. During my journey I became comfortable at any position eager to play wherever my coach needed me that day. As I grew older, I developed into a highly successful pitcher but also continued to play middle infield as well as third and outfield. This past summer was my 8th year with the Nor’Easters. I ended an abbreviated season (due to COVID-19) having pitched 21 innings giving up only 4 earned runs with an ERA of 1.31. At the plate I batted .323 with 15 RBI’s, 7 doubles and 10/10 in stolen bases. I’ve also been able to contribute to my high school football and track teams and hope to continue to play 3 sports until I graduate. I am a proud student-athlete at Central Catholic High School and look forward to wearing my college mascot across my chest on the baseball field.
The strong work-ethic and leadership skills I’ve developed will be a valuable asset to the college program I choose. I am vocal on the field and encourage teammates as much as I can. Although I am very competitive in nature, I believe we can only win when we work together as a team.
I plan to major in a STEM field and am looking for a school that has a strong academic program and proud athletic traditions.
