Playing highly competitive baseball at good tournaments was as good as it gets. However, I think I grew more as a person and as a player when I had parent coaches who tried to put me down on the field. Ranging from sitting me because they did not want to see me succeed; as I was often better than their kids, to intentionally humiliating me in front of entire teams. I had to learn to handle from a young age, how to deal with grown men trying to put me down and make me hate the game I love.
Those experiences forced me to learn how to handle stress on and off the field. I learned the value of how to control my own destiny and to not let others mold my plans. I have always led teams through personal adversity, as it was still my job being the catcher to captain my team and be a good teammate even if my own coach was not on my side.
I am looking for a program that fits me well academically and athletically at the collegiate level. I am confident that I have the ability, work ethic, coachability, and character to make an impact on your program.
