I love the game of baseball and have been playing since the age of three. The hard work and difficult challenges of the game have shown me valuable lessons and how much more hard work I have to put into the game to continue the process and become successful. It has also shown me to keep a positive mindset in a difficult situation. I have learned that not everything works out the first time and I must continue to trust the process. As a student-athlete, I have found a way to surpass my academics in Cardinal Hayes, being able to challenge myself in honor classes while also being able to start on the field.
I have been blessed to have my parents, coaches and friends guide me in this journey. Only one of my parents have finished college, and my sister is in the process of achieving her Bachelors Degree. Watching my family struggle to make ends meet and making sure my siblings and I are taken care of has driven me to ensure I achieve success in my future. I know it‘s a difficult task but I’m willing to take it, as their example has helped me realize how important my education is. My family has uplifted me to continue on the right path to chase my dreams and develop myself on and off the field.
