"To get up when you are down...
To fight more intensely when you are struggling...
To put in the extra effort when you are in sheet pain...
To come back when nobody expects you to...
And to do all that with dignity, grace, and sportsmanship...
That's what makes a Champion!" -Anthony Joshua.
Collegiate sports is the next level of competition with the same goals for me....help others, be a team player, and do better so that you all get to the next level. I've believed and practiced this since my first experience in sports when I was 5 years old on a T-ball team and it has grown as I have grown. As many athletes, I've seen and experienced many different levels of competition, many different teams and many different attitudes, personalities and motivations. Through it all, I've tried to help my team achieve more and help my individual teammates improve and achieve more.
I use the same tactics on the team as I do in the classroom, the community and abroad as I work hard and help others; like the time I went to Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria devastated them in 2017 or when I helped people recover in Louisiana after their 2016 flood.
I was homeschooled up until the 9th grade, so when I entered highschool, I had some catching up to do academically and organizationally. I quickly caught on to the highschool rigor and routine and achieved academic honors during my Sophomore year and beyond. As far as my ability on the baseball field, I consistently play catcher and third base, but I'd like to play any position that the team needs in order to help them achieve more.
