Committed to UCONN Huskie Baseball !!
I am smart. I am motivated. I am determined. I am looking for great opportunities, and I never shy away from a challenge.
I attend the number 1 academically ranked HS on Long Island, The Stony Brook School. I am taking Honors Algebra II and Honors Engineering because I, am greatly intrigued by mathematics and science, and if I pass them this year, get to take flight science next year, as a sophomore, and fly a plane. Our school has a flight simulator which we train in, and then we go to Republic Airport and actually fly planes. AWESOME!
I love baseball. Love it. Baseball movies, playing, watching, fantasy baseball, I even created a pickup game once, on Turneffe Atoll off the coast of Belize. That is a research island I went to with John Hopkins University, no electricty, 30 miles in the middle of the Carribean Sea, by morning we tagged dolphins, after lunch we cross sectioned coral reefs. At Night, I grab some small coconuts, and the trunks of dead baby palm trees, and played baseball.
I went to DR with the head of International Scouting for the Philadephia Phillies, Sal Agostinelli, and played against scout teams, Rockies, Pirates, Phillies. It was an unbelievable experience, both in being able to hang with players at that level, and actually hit the ball coming in at 95 MPH, one kid hit 101, and in discovering my own baseball deficiencies. I immediately came home, begged my dad for a cage in the yard. The rest of the summer I spent taking 100-200 swings a day against 90+ to improve for the trip this February, 2017.
I love working with coaches, learning about myself, discussing, analyzing and critiquing my performances, and developing a program to improve. You are not perfect because you threw a no-hitter. You are not horrible because you went 0-4 with 4 K's. Every experience offers an individual an opportunity to improve oneself.
My 11u coach once told me, "Every time you take the field, you get a little bit better, or a little bit worse. Which way you go is up to you. Make sure you get better." And that is my approach to everything, baseball, life, school and even family. Trying to be a better big brother to my younger brothers and sister, trying to be a better student, and most definitely trying to realize my baseball potential to its fullest.
I view college as the next step to making myself the best person I can be. Thank you.
