I am excited to earn an education and study Law or Sport Management at an accredited institution that welcomes a diverse student body from all walks of life in hopes to learn more from them and share my own personal experiences. I believe being a student athelete takes dediction, drive, and of course time management that helps you on and off the field and in and out of the classroom. I am looking forward to developing these skills even more in the future. I'd like to meet other student atheletes and learn new techniques and abilities in this new environment. My grades are on a steady uphill climb now but I know by surrounding myself with like-minded student athletes and using the resources your school provides the student body and will set me up for success.
To be considered a good candidate for your schools team, I plan to do the following: Remain open to instruction and ready to learn with a positive attitude. Be dedicated to the sport I love and coachable on and off the field and in and out of the classroom. Support my teammates in all things and show respect to my coaches and teachers.
As far as character is concerned I have a very strong family unit with a strong Catholic foundation, so I know much is expected of me. Two years ago I made my Confirmation and received the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit from the actual Bishop who married my parents. When I was Confirmed it was not popular among my friends or to others in school. I also had to leave practice or arrive late because of my religion classes or if I was Alter Serving during Mass that weekend assisting the Priest. I was strong and couragous during that time because it was important to me and my family to receive my Confirmation and the Seal of Protection. This past year I actually co-taught Religious Education for the Fourth Grade even though most kids that are Confirmed do not remain involved with the church. I wake up every day with a full heart and a moral compass that reflects what I think a good person and citizen should be. I am God-fearing, honest, loyal, and grounded. I know that my potential is limitless and with God by my side I am my only enemy. Another example of my good character would be when I heard that my Confirmation classmate and teammate had his gift money stolen during his Confirmation party. When I heard of this, I asked my mom if I could share my Confirmation gift money with him. You see I was always taught when I see a wrong to defend against it. Not only has Religion helped me grow and learn but I am also a Boy Scout in Troop 10 in Newburgh, NY and on my way to becoming an Eagle Scout. Again, being a Boy Scout is not popular among my peers but I am learning so much from the Troop Leaders and the older scouts.
I thank you for this opportunity and hope that my dream of becoming a Collegiate Baseball Player in the next phase of my education.
