As a student-athlete, I believe my primary goal should be to find the school that is both an ideal fit for me academically and, also, allows for the continuation of my love for baseball in that college’s program. I have always chosen to live life by one simple concept; at the end of every day, everything I do, everything I achieve, or every opportunity that I allow to slip by, it all becomes a part of the history of who I am – it can either strengthen my foundation to go further than I ever imagined possible, or it can weaken my growth to make other goals more difficult to achieve. Simply put, I don’t believe that anyone should ever stop reaching for their dreams and that every day should move them one step closer to those dreams.
I trust that, when given the opportunity, interested schools will recognize that I stand out as an exceptional candidate to represent their institution, because I am extremely goal driven and simply will not quit until I reach the bar that I have set for myself. I take extreme pride in both my family name and the name that is written across my jersey, and I always intend to give the maximum effort to represent them both honorably. Up to this point in my life, I have best been known, by my coaches, teachers, friends, and family, as someone who is extremely competitive and one who is never satisfied with “second place.” In the terms of academics, that means I never settle and always strive to improve. From an athletic standpoint, it is one of the characteristics that separates me from other players both on, and off, the field. I refuse to accept that any ambition is out of reach and will do whatever it takes to make sure that the effort I give leaves nothing behind.
