My total SAT scores are 1480. On this profile, under academics, they only include reading and math out of 1600.
There comes a time when we all take inventory of our lives. If I asked you, “What would you take out of your past and put into your future, if you could have anything?” “What about baseball?” Do you regret not playing baseball further or maybe you know someone who does? If I could take something out of my past and put it into my future, it would be baseball. I don’t want to stop playing after high school; I want to keep on playing for as long as I can. If you want someone who has a desire, a dream they just have to achieve, someone who has the drive to work harder because I’ve always had to, you found him. I want to keep playing, I want to play in college, and I hope to obtain my goal with the improvements I have made over the years.
My name is Hunter Henry and I wear number 9 as a tribute to my great uncle, who played in the big leagues for the Cardinals. I live in Eastern NC and attend Swansboro High school. I am 5’10 inches tall and weigh 185 pounds. I bat lefty and throw righty. I am a great contact hitter and helped lead my team in hits for the past season; I am also quick on the base paths and have quick feet. I started on the Varsity team my freshman year, and have loved it the past 3 years. Working my way towards today, I made 2nd all area team my sophomore year and I made 1st All Area Team my junior year. I received an all Conference Player award my junior year. I set my goal each year to improve my batting average and met my goals.
I am a catcher, my heart lies in this position. I have played many places on the field and catching is by far my favorite. If you know what it’s like to stand at 3rd base for an entire game and only get one ball hit to you, then you know why I enjoy catching. I am flexible and willing to go wherever my team needs me, but I like being able to touch the ball between every pitch. My goal for senior night in baseball this year is to play all 9 positions on the field; I know I can do it because I have played all 9. Let’s see if my coach will go for this!!!
You have read this far, I need to know what you are thinking. What do you think about me? What do you want to know about me? I want to be a part of a team in college; I know I can fit well with a team out there (maybe yours). I am well rounded and get along with everyone. If you think there may be a tiny chance I could be a good fit for your team, please contact me. I work hard and listen well. I make good grades, I am involved with the community, and I am a true leader. Please have a look at the list below along with my academic achievements. I will not disappoint you. I pray that one day soon; you are the one looking back on me. I pray you are glad you took that chance on a small town Eastern Carolina kid. I want you to smile and say, “That Hunter Henry kid worked hard and deserves to be here.”
