I've been playing baseball ever since I was able to hold a bat. My dad taught me how to hit a ball when I was probably 4 or 5 years old. As I've grown up, I've fallen in love with the game and the togetherness and community that are part of the game. I believe I can be an asset to a college program because I'm the type of player that puts the success of the team before my own personal accomplishments and feats. As a two-sport athlete, I've been fortunate to be a leader and captain on my baseball team, yet also learn the importance of role players on a team as I played a more supporting role for my secondary sport, basketball.
I believe the best fit for me will be a program where I can play baseball at the next level, while pursuing my academic goals. I have a full course load in high school, including honors classes and APs. And while managing academics, varsity sports, volunteer work, and a part-time job can be daunting at times, I have learned to carve out the time to work at the things that are most important to me. I believe I will prove myself a leader in your program through my work ethic and dedication to the team.
For years people have told me I profile as a third baseman, yet I have played SS all four years of high school, and am currently the starting SS on my club team. I comfortable in the MIF and at 3B. That said, in June 2021, my club team needed a catcher one day when our catcher couldn't make it, so I borrowed some gear and I volunteered; I had not caught in four or five years. My coaches recorded a consistent sub-2.0 pop time for me, and even though it is late in the game for an incoming freshman, coaches from D1 schools are coming to see me catch, which is pretty exciting. I like being back there, calling the game, and being in every play. I'm looking forward to seeing what this next year brings.
